This photography series shows my connection to Old Lahore, highlighting the city’s rich history and culture. These images tell stories about where I come from. Old Lahore is filled with busy streets, beautiful buildings, and vibrant traditions.
My aim was to showcase both the city’s beauty and the emotions found in its streets.
Each photograph reflects my feelings about my heritage and the culture my parents shared with me. As a First-Generation Australian whose parents were both born in Pakistan and immigrated to Australia before I was born, I have a unique perspective on, and connection to both countries.
I want viewers to feel the warmth and nostalgia in these images and to think about what it means to belong to two places. Through my work, I hope to spark curiosity and conversations about cultural identity. Thank you for exploring this connection with me.
